japanese culture

When I thought about something that made me feel passionate, the first thing that comes to my mind was draw, but I already talked about that I while ago, so I decided to focus on what influenced me to draw, and it’s japanes culture.
Art, music, festivals, even anime and manga. My love for this culture comes from the impact that had the studio ghibli in my childhood throught their movies, even though the one I rememeber the most is the grave of the fireflies – a film that tell the story of two siblings and the way they try to survive the second world war-.

To have seen those movies made me see a different conception of life, and in some kind of way change the form I thought about art in general and my own draws. For example, the works of kanagawa, made me realize the force that a piece of art can have without a human figure, and the backgrounds of the studio Ghibli like a part
important of the scene.

Another influence i see in my art is manga, sadly i don’t belive my abilities inking are good enought, but i try to rescue the technique used by mangakas – people that draws mangas- at the time of applying pressure on the pen. In mangas the lines are very important because they are used to express movement, shades and give strenght to the draw.

Music it’s part important of the process too, because it helphs me to draw, giving me the inspiration to create something.

Transforming the rhythm.
